Among the many advantages of using FabLittleBag® is that bagging and binning avoids flushing tampons, which can cause issues in our pipes, sewers, rivers and seas. Our friends at Severn Trent Water enlighten us of the perils of flushing inappropriate items down the loo. This article was originally published in the FabClub newsletter, a periodical email containing news and exclusive competitions and offers sent out to FabClub members. Severn Trent WaterJames Jesic, Head of Wholesale Operations explains:
"Sanitary products do not break down like toilet tissue in water..."
"The disposal of feminine hygiene products down the toilet causes huge problems for water companies every day. The disposal can lead to blockages of drains and sewers, which in turn can lead to the sewage and waste water from our homes not being able to flow to freely to the sewage treatment works. The sewage can then escape and end up flooding into people's homes, gardens. Sanitary products do not break down like toilet tissue in water so they also stop pumps working and block equipment at sewage treatment works which in turn can lead to more sewage escaping to the environment.

"A safe, convenient disposal method for disposing of sanitary products in a bin, would help significantly reduce the number of issues highlighted above. We are happy to support FabLittleBags as we believe they provide our customers with an easy and environmentally aware alternative to flushing."
