We’re excited to announce that Next Level Cricket Academy (NLCA) is now officially a Period Supportive Academy. This initiative is a significant step forward in supporting girls in sport by ensuring that periods are no longer a barrier to participation. With the integration of FabLittleBag’s Period Disposal Bags at all training sessions, NLCA is creating an inclusive environment where girls feel confident and cared for, regardless of whether they’re on their period.
Why This Matters
NLCA, founded in 2020 by Kira Chathli and Sebastián Connor, was established to provide high-level coaching for girls and promote access to relatable female role models. In an environment where young girls are developing both their cricket skills and their confidence, it’s essential that all aspects of their well-being are considered. For many girls, periods can still be a source of anxiety, especially in sports where access to proper facilities and disposal methods has been limited in the past.
As Kira Chathli, co-founder and Head Coach of NLCA, explains:
"Having grown up playing at clubs which didn’t always provide facilities for girls & women, we understand how being ‘caught short’ and not having the infrastructure to effectively and responsibly dispose of any period products, can lead to awkwardness or feeling embarrassed. This is a situation I want to improve for the next generation of female cricketers."
With the introduction of FabLittleBag’s sustainable and discreet disposal solutions, NLCA is breaking down these barriers. Girls can now train and compete with confidence, knowing that they have the support they need if they get their period while at practice or during a match.
Empowering Girls Through Period Positivity
The partnership between NLCA and FabLittleBag is built on shared values of empowerment, sustainability, and education. By making period products readily available and offering environmentally friendly disposal solutions, NLCA is sending a powerful message to its participants: periods are normal, and they shouldn’t stop you from pursuing your dreams in sport.
NLCA’s co-founder and Managing Director, Sebastián Connor, emphasises the importance of this initiative:
"Next Level Cricket Academy strives to provide holistic care to all our participants and this significant partnership with FabLittleBag (FLB) illustrates our intentions to take action and become a leading community for change in women and girl’s cricket."
This partnership not only supports the girls at NLCA but also aims to influence the infrastructure of sports centers used by the academy. By addressing the need for period-friendly facilities, NLCA is setting an example for other sports academies and organisations to follow.
Why Sustainable Period Disposal Matters
FabLittleBag’s Period Bags are designed to make period disposal easy, hygienic, and environmentally friendly. Made from sustainable materials, these bags help reduce the environmental impact of flushing or improperly disposing of period products. With NLCA integrating FabLittleBag’s solutions into their training sessions, the academy is helping girls understand the importance of responsible disposal while promoting sustainable habits.
At FabLittleBag, our mission is to remove the stigma surrounding periods and provide practical, sustainable solutions for girls and women. By empowering girls in their most vulnerable moments, we aim to replace awkwardness and anxiety with calm, relaxed confidence.

"We are thrilled that NLCA has joined the Period Supportive movement. By integrating our Eco Period Bag into their training, and taking it to away matches, NLCA is setting a new standard for how sports academies can support young female athletes. This initiative empowers girls to manage their periods confidently, ensuring that menstruation is never a barrier to participating in the sport they love. Another example of a small change making a big impact.”
